What is it?
Vascular lesions are normal veins that have dilated under the influence of increased venous pressure. A backup of blood creates a system of visible veins close to the surface of skin that often resembles a “web”, hence their nickname. In the uncommon occurrence when the appearance of leg veins is coupled with pain, this is often felt as a throbbing or aching sensation after walking, standing or sitting for long periods of time.
ND:YAG technology is a much more effective leg vein treatment than IPL for the majority of leg veins. Typically 2-5 treatments are needed for optimum results, though small lesions may clear in just a single session. Repeat treatments are spaced every 4 to 6 weeks. While these vascular lesions are most commonly found in the legs, they can also occur elsewhere on the body, such as the face.
